Kaya Sanan photographs to see what the photograph might reveal about a human being that is hard to see when life is flowing without abstraction.

He has studied with John Lueders-Booth, Barbara Norfleet, Ann Wilkes Tucker and Arno Minniken in college as he majored in Biochemistry and minored in Visual & Environmental Studies. Later, chemistry of humans was more interesting to him than molecules.

Kaya has exhibited in North America, Europe and Asia, has been published internationally, and has won a few documentary photography awards.

He travels the world to photograph or waits for the world to come to New York City, where he lives.
